Where are the imitators of God? They don't appear to be amongst evangelicals in South Carolina.
During the Faux News debate last night, Newt Gingrich, a twice-divorced adulterer and convert from protestantism to Catholicism*, espoused a viewpoint in direct contradiction of Matthew 5:43-45 and received a standing ovation. Ron Paul, an evangelical married to one wife for over fifty years, advocated the Golden Rule of Luke 6:31 and was booed.
*Please note carefully that I am attacking neither sinners nor Catholics.

I eagerly awaited your analysis of the debate, since I couldn't be bothered to watch it myself. It pains me to say it, but Mr. Paul is right. Both the angry Muslims and the U.S. need to follow this rule.
I didn't actually watch it either. I heard about it through the various media outlets.
I watched much of the debates, except having stepped away during a couple of commercials, only to come back and find I've missed a bit of Dr. Paul speaking. (a media conspiracy to be sure....)
It was jaw-droppingly appalling to listen to the murderous language of some of these supposedly Christian candidates and to the blood-thirsty applause of the audience.
Has worshipping the government's military become so ingrained in our culture that God's truths (and even rational reasoning) are so easily set aside?
I work with some folks who would claim Jesus as their Lord. One, in particular, thinks all who follow Islam should be killed and that the whole Middle-East would be better off nuked and turned into a sea of glass. Wow. I'm really not sure there's a cure for this kind of brainwashing.
Yes, I actually heard a member of my congregation suggest we should nuke all the muslims, too. Fortunately, I also know some believers who are committed to seeing the Great Commission fulfilled among ALL peoples, including the Islamic world.
